This past Tuesday (01/06), the Patrol Leadership Committee met to plan February's meetings and themes. This month's activity and outing theme will be Climbing. We also have our Red & Green Court of Honor this month, which means the troop will be rehearsing for the ceremony.
For the first meeting, the troop will hold officer elections. These elections occur twice a year and provide every scout with an opportunity to run for a leadership position, such as Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and so on. Remember, the later ranks require scouts to hold a leadership position, so this is a good opportunity to gain that experience. Also during this meeting, the troop will be rehearsing for the Red & Green Court of Honor ceremony.
For our second meeting, the theme will be Climbing. Scouts will teach others the ins and outs and need-to-know information regarding equipment, safety, climbing terminology, and what to expect while climbing. This is in preparation for our cabin outing on 02/21, where we will be scaling the climbing walls at Upper Limits. Sign-ups are open for the Upper Limits campout and can be found here. Scouts can earn the climbing merit badge on this outing.

Our third meeting week is tapped for Recovery & Administrative items. Here, scouts will inspect and clean our gear after the cabin outing and ensure it's ready to go for next month's outing. Next, the focus will be on rank requirement sign-offs, logging camping credits, and reviewing the skills learned at camp.
Looking forward to an exciting month, and we hope to see you all there!
